After meeting on the Melbourne gig circuit, Georgia Knight and Adam Heath formed the beginnings of what would soon become The Hot Springs - writing and recording at a studio in Melbourne’s North. With guitar-heavy classic rock spiking their writing style, the collaboration has evolved to include elements of Aussie rock, jazz and lyrical storytelling; drawing from the likes of Cash Savage, Goanna, Tracey Chapman and Robert Plant. Joined by Louis Majiwa’s tasty bass lines and ska aficionado Cassie Kumaschow on the tubs, The Hot Springs’ hazy alt-rock sound is punctured by riff-offs between soloist Renn Picard on sax, and Heath on lead guitar. With a voice that has earned comparisons to Lana Del Ray and Chris Isaac, singer Georgia Knight leads with an electric live show. THS were recently described by PBS as “a very good live band”.
THS are currently working on their debut EP, for released in 2018.
“We stumbled across The Hot Springs at a recent house concert…mesmerised is an understatement! We took the opportunity to grab some of the wonderful fare and a beer on offer during the second set break and were forced to down fork and plate when hearing the haunting vocals of their lead singer, reminiscent of Lana Del Ray and Chris Isaac.”
